i think overall this s item is a good idea, but it needs better quality components. the elastic string broke an hour after i put it up. i found it was better to shut it in the door frame as my 7month old kitten launched it off the string within five minutes. shutting the door enabled it to last a little longer as they couldn’t run off with it like they wanted. my cats played with it a little bit, but it was obvious they weren’t too impressed with it. we’ve shut it in the door accidently a few times and it was fine. the first one i bought seemed a bit longer, i had to adjust it to shorten it. it’s a little high so i didn’t think my cat would be able to reach but she can and loves it! the now exposed wire might scratch some paint off but it was above my door frame and i hadn’t used it once yet so i let it go.
the bungee cord was snapped, the adjustable clip completely broke so the bungee just fell off and i couldn’t attach it anymore. my cats aren’t rabid, they played with it as intended, i just think the materials used aren’t made to held up. she loves it and would play non-stop until the mouse would end up hanging over the door where she couldn’t get to it. i took it down because of this, then replaced the mouse with a soft ball, but my kitten is not interested. he played with it instantly. i agree with that statement, but the cat also loves pulling it down from the laundry room shelves. the cat loves the toy so much that he scavenged his way through the chewy box to get the second one and pulled it out. this frees the mouse on a string and he carries it and hides it, chewing on it. i have an adult cat and hanging it from a standard doorway leaves the mouse dangling a little high. there is a detachable buckle towards the top so i can take the mouse down and play with her, but i’ve yet to see her bat at it while it’s hanging up.
